On November 15, we became aware of a story published online describing extremely harmful and inappropriate behavior of an overtly sexual nature by an individual within the deconstruction community. Although the story did not name him, we were informed that the person in question was Scott Okamoto, host of Chapel Probation and co-host of The Horny Chapel, two podcasts that are part of the Dauntless Media Collective.

In the days following that story's publication, additional information was brought to our attention, including another disclosure from someone else who was subjected to similar behavior from Scott. Out of respect for the privacy and autonomy of the women who came forward, we will not be sharing any further details about the allegations.

Our purpose of protecting the safety, well-being, and trust of our network and the audiences who listen to our podcasts is of utmost importance to us. Thus, with these priorities in mind, and after careful consideration, we have made the decision that Scott and his podcasts will no longer be part of the Dauntless Media Collective.

This is not a punitive action or a judgment about anyone’s character or intentions. It simply reflects the boundaries we must uphold to ensure that Dauntless remains a space where creators and listeners can feel safe, respected, and supported.

We also want to express, with care, that this is a difficult moment for many people in our community. We ask that everyone honor the privacy of those who have come forward and approach conversations about this situation with compassion and respect.

Finally, we want to affirm these commitments that we hope will shape us, both now and into the future:
We remain dedicated to building spaces rooted in integrity, safety, and the well-being of the people who entrust us with their stories.
