LGBTQIA students, faculty, and staff at chrisitian schools have always faced bigotry and discrimination. Since the election a few weeks ago, that bigotry and discrimination has increased at alarming levels. Although there is uncertainty about the future of Title 9 protections, the fact is that queer people have not been safe at christian schools and this will only worsen in the coming years as schools might not even need to justify their systemic queerphobia with exemptions to Title 9. REAP, the Religious Exemption Accountability Project is now a full-functioning 501c3 organization and is ready to support LGBTQIA people in christian schools with networking, resources, and events. Erin Green and Crystal Cheatham came onto Chapel Probation to talk about their lives and the mission they envision at REAP.
